Come and learn from the best! 2017
Michael Gascon was raised on his family’s lovely sprawling green Ranch in Southern Mississippi. The Idealistic young trainer says he has been riding horses "Since before I can even remember". He has won countless National Championships and Grand National Champions with the gaited Paso Fino horses born and bred on his families ranch. In addition to training and breeding the smoothest riding horse in the world, Michael also loves to travel and teach horsemanship and horse training secrets learned from over 400 years of combined family horse experience. Gascon Horsemanship clinics are open to anyone who is struggling to find a way to communicate with their own horses, be they gaited horses or non gaited. Michael says they are Equine first Gaited 2nd.
Michael says he has always enjoyed teaching. “There is just something amazing about working with a horse and rider separately and then being able to put it together to create a lasting partnership”. Michael says the turning point for him was when he gave his first solo clinic. “It was there that I realized that there is nothing common about horse sense. I haven’t just been living for 26 years; I’ve been being educated and groomed by some of the greatest horsemen this world has to offer. This is my chance to give back and share my knowledge and experience with the public”. Michael says he wants to help people enjoy their horses and stay safe doing it.
Michael believes there is no such thing as an un-trainable horse. It’s all about trust, understanding and learning to read the horses. What works for one horse/rider, might not work for another. You have to think outside the box and accept each horse and rider’s unique individual personality and capability. That's what makes the job of trainer and clinician so challenging and at the same time so rewarding.
Cost of the clinic is $125/day or $225 for both days. Auditing is $25/day. Lunch is provided on Saturday. Riders will be divided into groups according to riding level. Each group will ride for 2 hours in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon.
